MG+M Partner Howard Goldberg discusses proposed US bans against TikTok in an article for Global Data Review. Howard leads MG+M’s Business Litigation and eDiscovery + Information Management Practices and chairs the firm’s Information Technology and eDiscovery Committee.
In the article, Howard says, “The legislation in various states and the bill proposed by [Senator] Marco Rubio at the federal level, in my view, is aimed at social media companies that are based in nations that don’t necessarily have the best relationship with the United States. This seems to be the regulatory focus for foreign-run companies: If you’re based in Russia, China or Iran I think you'll have to show specific security measures to ensure government employees can utilise those technologies.”
