On October 15, 2021, MG+M partners and administrative leaders participated in the first of three diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training sessions. The sessions are led by Dr. Mary Wardell-Ghirarduzzi, an educator, executive, author and thought leader in the DEI space. Dr. Wardell-Ghirarduzzi, who currently serves as the Vice President for DEI at University of the Pacific, will be working with the firm to implement broad-based diversity strategies. The 90-minute sessions are to be held remotely over Zoom. 
 
The first session covered a variety of DEI-related topics, including cultural humility and the importance of committing to life-long learning, self-awareness, reflection and empathy, especially in the context of cultural identities. The session also covered anti-racism as an initiative to identify, challenge and deconstruct racism as it exists within U.S. society and the important differences between equality and equity.
