MG+M The Law Firm is pleased to announce the acquisition of Donovan Hatem LLP, a full-service law firm that is nationally and internationally recognized in the design professionals space. The firm is adding 21 attorneys (8 partners, 3 of counsel, 10 associates), bringing MG+M’s attorney count to more than 185 attorneys across offices in 15 cities. MG+M expects to surpass 200 attorneys by year end.
Donovan Hatem brings to MG+M a litigation group focused on the representation of architects and engineers in high-stakes matters. Additionally, a specialized consulting group that advises design professionals and insurance companies that underwrite project-specific insurance on large-scale public and private projects (e.g., tunnels, bridges and other megaprojects) throughout North America joins MG+M’s ranks.
“Donovan Hatem’s unique legacy experience in the design professionals arena combined with its extraordinarily talented professionals provide us with a generational opportunity to develop, strengthen and expand client services in the design professionals and other spaces throughout the US and in Canada and Europe as well. This specialized practice area offers us an extraordinary platform to meet growing client demands, which has only intensified since passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said MG+M Chairperson and Partner John B. Manning. “We anticipate tremendous synergy and opportunity throughout all firm practice areas, and we are excited for what we can accomplish together.”
“We are thrilled to join MG+M, which gives us significant opportunity to offer our design professional clients a diversified and expanded range of services,” said David Hatem, partner at MG+M and former chair of Donovan Hatem’s Executive Committee. “It is important that we maintain our firm’s historical focus on integrity, professionalism and excellent client service, and with MG+M, we have found a highly compatible firm whose shared vision and culture of quality service, collegiality and collaboration align perfectly with our priorities.”
“This combination also enhances our ability to continue attracting the highest quality talent in the design professionals space and our other disciplines despite very competitive markets. With great excitement, we look forward to the continued growth and success of MG+M,” John added.
