Overview

An experienced trial lawyer and litigator, Anthony “TJ” Danhelka's practice focuses on the defense of corporations in mass-tort, toxic tort, product liability and premises liability matters, including asbestos litigation. He also has experience defending utility companies, product manufacturers, premises owners, construction companies, and trucking/transportation-related companies in matters involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death and property damage.

Anthony is fully dedicated to aggressively defending his clients and understands that preparation is the key to success. As a trial attorney, Anthony has prepared and actively participated in the defense and trials of cases throughout the nation. He has been a senior member of several trial teams responsible for developing and implementing trial strategy for product manufacturers in asbestos litigation and other matters involving catastrophic injuries/wrongful death. He has conducted direct examinations and cross-examinations of plaintiffs, fact, and expert witnesses at trial and in depositions. He has prepared and argued substantive motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and motions in limine in state and federal court. He has coordinated the defense for clients from coast to coast in some of the nation's most difficult jurisdictions.

Anthony is licensed in the state of Illinois, the state of Missouri, and the US District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. Additionally, Anthony has been admitted pro hac vice in several jurisdictions, including California, North Carolina, New Jersey and Ohio.

Anthony was recognized on the Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2020–2023. He has also been recognized as “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers in America. He is a two-time NCAA All-American in swimming. He a member of the Order of Barristers, the Defense Research Institute (DRI), Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, Illinois Defense Counsel and Illinois Bar Association.
