Carmen defends clients in complex civil litigation and focuses her practice on toxic torts. Throughout her career she has successfully represented manufacturers, distributors, contractors, suppliers and premise owners in multi-party litigation involving exposure to various toxins.
After receiving her JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Carmen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Phyllis Halsey Atkins, Magistrate in the United States Federal Court, District of Nevada. In that capacity, she drafted judicial opinions pertaining to all phases of civil litigation and criminal law. During law school, Carmen was a brief editor on the nationally ranked Moot Court team as well as a member of the La Raza Law Students Association.
Carmen grew up in Sonoma County and hasn’t gone far, as she now resides in Mill Valley with her husband and four children. When she isn’t working, she’s usually cheering from the stands at one of her children’s sporting events, volunteering with youth sports or attending a board meeting for the Tamalpais High School Boosters.
