Chris McDevitt is the Chief Operating Officer at MG+M. As COO, he leads the firm’s operational, financial, and administrative support functions. Chris ensures that the goals and strategies of the firm and the Executive Committee are aligned, while overseeing the firm’s planning and operations in finance, information technology, talent management, marketing, and administration. Since joining MG+M in 2013, Chris has helped shape the firm’s strategic vision, and helped guide its continued success. Chris presents on professional development topics to the firm, including around mental health, wellbeing and emotional intelligence. He authored an article published by Law.com about the importance of emotional intelligence to ensure continued success and longevity at law firms. In 2023, Chris was honored as part of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly's 2023 Excellence in the Law awards in the category of Excellence in Firm Administration.
Chris is a senior manager with over 20 years of progressive and diversified financial accounting and analysis experience, predominantly in the professional services industry. Prior to joining MG+M, Chris served as Controller at the international law firm Foley Hoag LLP, and he was formerly a Controller at global communications firm Brodeur Partners. He has a proven track record of improving financial operations and efficiency through effective team-building, cost control, and the implementation of new technology. Chris is a hands-on leader who promotes a strong culture that emphasizes ethics and professionalism.
Chris has a BS from Boston College, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He is an active member of the CFO Roundtable and the Association of Legal Administrators. He lives in the greater Boston area with his wife and kids, where he coaches youth sports.
