John B. Manning is a partner with MG+M in Boston, MA, and serves as Firm Chairperson. He also leads MG+M’s Complex Litigation Group, which maintains an active national presence from its offices across 16 cities throughout the United States. As National Coordinating Counsel for multiple corporations’ litigation matters, John directs the defense of tens of thousands of cases pending in all 50 states. He also represents dozens of corporations in discrete litigation throughout the country and serves on several clients’ national trial teams and litigation strategy units.
John concentrates his practice in products liability, toxic torts, asbestos defense, mass torts, litigation management, infectious disease counseling and litigation, COVID-19, food liability, professional liability, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, environmental litigation, class actions, intellectual property litigation, and commercial and insurance disputes. He has tried dozens of cases and has extensive experience in appellate practice, alternative dispute resolution, and national litigation management.
John has served as an expert witness regarding issues in national asbestos litigation. A frequent speaker and commentator on products liability litigation, he has Co-Chaired Perrin Conferences’ National Asbestos Litigation Conference annually since 2009. In addition, he has coordinated clients’ lobbying efforts in the US House of Representatives and Senate on national tort reform.
