Mark Tivin is a partner in MG+M’s Chicago office. Mark graduated from the University of Illinois in 1989 with a degree in Political Science and attended law school at the John Marshall Law School from 1989-1992. While at John Marshall, Mark was an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Executive Board and competed in several national moot court competitions.

After graduating from John Marshall, Mark began practicing law as an associate representing plaintiffs in civil litigation matters. He also headed up the firm's practice in employment and race discrimination and successfully worked with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on a class action case involving racial discrimination. It resulted in a consent decree being entered and class members being compensated.

With over 25 years of legal experience, Mark has successfully tried cases in Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Mark focused his practice as a national trial counsel representing a product manufacturer and has worked in coordinating its national defense. He was also the successful lead trial counsel in the case of Bartel v. John Crane, the Sixth Circuit Federal case that established new case law in federal asbestos cases. Mark also represented a tile floor manufacturer in New York City and achieved a successful resolution.

Currently, Mark represents several companies in products liability litigation and also assists in coordinating the national defense for other companies. He also works in employment and racial discrimination cases in Illinois.
