Oviya Sivasangary first joined MG+M in 2021 in the firm's San Francisco office as a Legal Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 1L summer scholar and summer associate. She gained a variety of experience in different stages of litigation and worked with an MG+M client’s in-house counsel to prepare a research presentation on emerging legal issues and foreseeable products liability. She returned the following summer in 2022 as a summer associate, as well as during her final year of law school in the spring of 2023 as a law clerk in MG+M’s Boston office.
During law school, Oviya was part of the Sandra Day O’Connor Honors Program and received a full-tuition academic achievement scholarship. She also served on the board of the South Asian Law Student Association as the evening liaison and marketing officer. Outside of school, Oviya worked as a student practitioner for Greater Boston Legal Services in the elder services unit for the housing division, where she made court appearances, drafted motions and conducted intensive client intake.
