Contracts 101: Key Provisions for Design Professionals

Overview

MG+M The Law Firm is pleased to host the next installment of our Design Professionals Roundtable series, “Contracts 101: Key Provisions for Design Professionals,” which will focus on the essential contract provisions that every design professional should know. Led by Partner Brendan Malvey and Of Counsel Michael Robertson, this session will provide a comprehensive overview of the key provisions found in nearly all design contracts.

Tailored to address the issues confronting and the risks encountered by design professionals, this presentation will help you:

  • recognize typical standard of care definitions and the heightened definitions and obligations to be avoided, and the impact of both from a risk management perspective;
  • navigate indemnity obligations to guard against unexpected risks addressed through your professional lability insurance policy;
  • manage ownership of your instruments of service and safeguard your intellectual property and creative work; and
  • set clear limitations on liability to manage your potential risk in the event of a claim arising out of your services.

MG+M’s attorneys understand the unique legal challenges faced by design professionals and provide strategic guidance to help you manage your risk and succeed in your practice. We hope you can join us for this valuable discussion.

Continuing Education (CE) credits will be available for this roundtable. Please provide your AIA member number in the registration form. If not provided, we cannot issue your credits, and it will be your responsibility to secure them independently.
