On October 18, 2023, MG+M The Law Firm Partners Adam Hays and David Frohn and Associate Vikram Bhatia secured a defense verdict from a New Orleans–area jury for a national air conditioner manufacturer and a national retailer in a cause and origin fire case. 

The plaintiff alleged the company’s air conditioner was the cause of a fire which resulted in more than $250,000 in property damages to the plaintiff’s home. The plaintiff was also seeking to recover emotional distress and mental anguish damages from the fire. Additionally, an intervenor in the case sought more than $200,000 in damages from the defendants during trial. 

After a multi-day trial, the jury deliberated for approximately one hour before reaching a verdict for the defense. The jury determined there was not a defect in the product, completely exonerating our clients.
