Brent Karren, a partner in the firm, practices in the area of complex tort litigation with a broad focus in products liability, insurance defense, premises liability, general liability, construction litigation, and mass tort litigation involving asbestos and toxic torts.
An experienced and versatile trial attorney, Brent represents a wide variety of clients, including insurance companies, business owners, and Fortune 500 companies in matters ranging from toxic tort cases to general negligence, premises liability, products liability, construction defect liability and personal injury defense. Brent has tried a significant number of multi-million-dollar damages cases in courtrooms throughout the country, and possesses a track record that includes numerous defense verdicts on behalf of product manufacturers.
Brent has spent the majority of his legal career in the courtroom and is a skilled negotiator and seasoned advocate. With 30 years of experience, he is adept at managing high-end product liability litigation, mass tort and high-stakes, multi-jurisdiction litigation to yield optimal results and value while mitigating risks and exposure on behalf of his clients whenever possible. As a member of several national trial teams, he has been called upon to defend clients in litigation matters throughout the United States. Prior to joining MG+M's California offices in 2012, Brent handled thousands of cases filed in Texas, and represented numerous defendants in one of the country’s largest mass tort dockets.

Trial Experience
Brent’s primary discipline is national trial practice. He began trying cases in Texas in the mid-1990s when he represented such companies as United States Gypsum, National Gypsum, GAF Corporation, Armstrong World Industries, Dana Corporation, and Union Carbide Corporation. He is the national trial counsel for The Boeing Company and Viad Corporation, an alleged successor-in-interest to Griscom-Russell Company, which made evaporators used aboard naval vessels. Viad Corporation has taken a strict no-pay policy and Brent has tried several cases to verdict on Viad’s behalf, and successfully obtained defense verdicts in each. Brent was a long-time member of Georgia-Pacific’s National Trial Team for its toxic torts litigation. He has tried product and premises liability cases and obtained defense verdicts in multiple states across the country.
