On March 1, a Chicago jury returned a complete defense verdict for a talc-powder product manufacturer following a four-week jury trial. After less than two hours of deliberations, over lunch, the jury unanimously rejected plaintiff’s claims of asbestos contamination in the talc, finding that MG+M’s client had not acted negligently in its manufacture or design of its talc products, nor did the company have any reason to place a warning on those products. This is the second unanimous talc trial defense verdict for both that company and MG+M. 

This trial is the first cosmetic talc trial to proceed to verdict in Chicago and marks a significant win for companies dealing with highly-publicized trial lawyer–driven allegations in talc litigation.
